Sameeksha Performing Arts are dance classes for kids and adults to gain the knowledge of Indian dance in an enjoyable and fun way! It is aimed to have group classes from beginner to advanced levels to boost social cooperation, self confidence and an appreciation for music and dance as an art form.

Dance Instructor

I am your dance instructor and here are a few words about me.

I’m a Postgraduate in Bharatanatyam (Indian Classical Dance) from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad, India. I started learning dance when I was 3 years old from my teacher, Mrs. Kanika Barik in Lucknow, India. I did my Arangetram (debut) at a very young age which instilled huge confidence in me.

I am also an Ayurvedic doctor (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery from Pune, India) with a Fellowship in Cardiac Rehabilitation (Apollo hospital, Hyderabad) and practiced Medicine in Pune, India before moving to Seattle in 2009. I am blessed to have my lovely family and wonderful friends as my support system.

Having learned and performed dance for more than a decade, music and dance were an everyday part of life right from childhood. I was fortunate to perform at various State and National level competitions and won several awards throughout my years of education. I have an extensive experience in solo and group dance choreographies for stage performances at all levels. Students from Sanskriti Performing Arts have been regularly performing at IAWW Diwali festival, Anand Mela, WATG and many other school and local concerts in the Seattle area.

I’m a devotional, hardworking and positive person who loves pursuing her passion as a career. The online dance classes during Covid, especially with the little kids, were a great way to stay positive and connected with my students and their families. It inspired me to pursue the Early learning education course and become a Montessori preschool teacher at the Sammamish Montessori school, Redmond. I love teaching children and find it rewarding in many ways. I believe that children bring in positivity, unconditional love and uniqueness which in turn brings out patience, virtue and exuberance in us all.
